Our New 2023 Driver - Aaron Love
Promising talent Aaron Loves has officially joined the 88 Racing Team as a new addition to the S5000 Series for the 2023 season.
After a stint racing in the Carrera Cup in France last year, Love is now back in Australia on a full-time basis. Notably, Love also showcased his skills on the Formula 1 undercard during the French and British Grands Prix.
Love's journey in motorsports began at the age of six when he started karting, eventually making his debut in Wanneroo's Formula 1000 class. Following in his brother's footsteps, Aaron then embarked on a Porsche racing career. Despite being just 17 years old, Love made his debut in the Carrera Cup in 2019, experiencing considerable success on the local circuit before venturing into European competitions. In 2022, he returned to race partially in Australia and delivered an impressive performance, winning 12 out of 18 starts and narrowly missing out on the championship title.
JOEY MAWSON
Joey Mawson, born in Camperdown Sydney is the current back-to-back champion of the S5000 Championship.
Joey began his career in Karting at a young age of 7. Pretty quickly he started winning championships, with 19 state and 3 national titles between 2003 and 201. Then in 2010 he was named Australia's best karter.
In 2014 he moved to Formula 4 alongside Mick Schumacher at Van Amersfoort Racing and finished 3rd overall. Joey continued to progress and in 2017 competed in the FIA European Formula 3 Championship.
We are delighted to have such a great athlete driving the #88 car and cannot wait to see what he has instore for the 2023 championship.
Due to Joey not being able to race, Aaron Love has replaced him in the 88 racing car.
